Dante everywhere

We have covered a good selection of smaller Dante interface examples here in past videos on the channel. It has been fascinating watching the hardware, software & community of users grow together across the world so quickly in recent years. What started out with their simple AVIO adapters has turned into an entire industry of purpose built utility boxes of every shape and flavor imaginable.

It has been especially interesting to see what different manufacturers prioritize in their Dante interface designs. Pick up any two boxes with similar specs from different companies and you will see wildly different approaches. With their new takes on old challenges, you get to see what parts of the industry their customers are in. It’s an exciting time.

Unlike older purpose built utility gear, the flexibility with networking is incredible. We’ve seen everything over Dante already, from plain old microphones to advanced intercom systems. Although costly at times, it seems for the moment that if you build it, the purchase orders may indeed come.

In this video we’re taking a first look at the Neutrik NA2-IO-DPRO & NA2-IO-DLINE interfaces, along with the NPS-30w PoE power supply. Neutrik was nice enough to send these units over for us to have a look at, along with a number of their rigging and mounting options. The DPRO is the flagship model in their Dante Interface lineup. It features primary and secondary Dante ports, two high-quality microphone pre-amps, the ability to do AES as well as analog, along with some nifty control software and intelligent input configurations.

More on this one in an upcoming review after I’ve had a chance to use them more, leave any questions or comments down below if you’ve got them!
