In this video, we’re taking a look at the Sound Devices 970 audio recorder with Dante & Madi i/O. With 144 inputs, made up of Dante, Madi, AES & Analog i/O, this half rack space unit really packs it it. You can record 64 tracks of 24-bit @ 48kHz or 32 tracks of 24-bit @ 96kHz.

It’s all about redundancy with the 970, dual power supplies, options to mount 4 hard drives along with proprietary ‘FileSafe & PowerSafe technology keeping things intact in the event of a failure. In the video, I pull the power and we see how the system shuts itself down without any loss of data.
